Stress Management and Well-being
Research as recent as March 2011 shows that 68% of the workforce is affected by severe stress, which is the leading cause of absenteeism, productivity loss, and a host of illnesses.
CEL uses a uniquely effective method of stress management which is based on the state of thoughtless awareness and through regular practice leads to the feeling of inner peace and balance, increased focus and performance, improved family and work relationships, and other mental, emotional and physical benefits, as evidenced by a growing body of medical and scientific research.
There are four series of Stress Management and Well-being programs, each consisting of 6 sessions. Each online session lasts approximately 30 minutes, although real-time sessions led by a CEL coach may last up to an hour depending on each situation.
CEL uses meditation as a self-enhancing practice. Meditation is a mainstream notion which is now accepted by the HR departments of a number of large corporations and institutions. However, meditation is a generic name and the meditation used by CEL needs to be further specified.
Unlike most meditation methods, the system used by CEL does not resort to mental concentration (sympathetic nervous system) but it invites the self discovery of a natural and spontaneous process (parasympathetic nervous system), accessible to every individual under specific conditions. Hence the practice includes a guided meditation to awaken inner energies. This difference of approaches is fundamental because the resulting empowerment is beyond mental activity. To reach there we need to access and maintain inner silence, devoid of the constant stream of thoughts or emotions related to the past or the future.
Hence, the meditation system used by CEL, the state of "thoughtless awareness" is established and represents the meeting with the present. It is in that condition, which opens beyond mental activities, that intuition, inspiration, creativity, or other qualities such as serenity, balance and resilience can be nurtured and developed for the greater good of the individual and the community or corporation where his or her impact is felt. Furthermore the condition of thoughtless awareness releases these inner energies that are beneficial to our psychosomatic health and well-being.
CEL's uniquely effective methodology for stress management requires daily practice for best results, also given the novel nature of the exercises involved. Through regular practice, participants become proficient in the techniques presented and are able to experience long-term, sustained positive effects.
